- Manage your time well; make a conscious choice about how you want to spend it. You will never get another chance to live this moment. What is truly important is that you are aware of the choices that you are making. Make them without regrets and with full responsibility for the consequences that comes with them, whatever they may be.
- At the end of each day reflect on what you did with your time. What worked well? What might you do differently? Learn from both without judging them as right or wrong, they are just experiences or teaching moments to grow from when the next day begins.
- Get familiar with your “brass rings” (dreams, wants and goals,) these are what will drive you and bring you joy. If you don’t know what they are you will spend your time wandering aimlessly without passion or purpose. Identify one or two, write them down, ask yourself are you moving towards them with what you do each day. What is your plan to turn your dream into reality?
- Be open to the opportunities that come your way. Don’t take them for granted; they will disappear as quickly as they appear. Take advantage of them or make a conscious choice not to. This way you take control over the decisions you make and are at peace with the results.
- Do not blame others for how you feel or behave. People are not responsible for making you feel happy, sad, angry, confident, etc. They don’t have that power, only YOU do. Own how you feel fully and then you will recognize that you always have that power, it is never about someone else.
- If you have to regret something, let it be what you did not what you wished you had done. Be the unique, quirky, brilliant, funny, sassy and imperfect you. Remember for the most part that people are too busy worrying themselves to be bothered by what you do.
