How many of you are suffering from HBO syndrome. No, this is not from watching too much TV; it is what I like to refer to as Holiday Burn Out. We rush around and run ourselves ragged to prepare for “the big event”. Then suddenly it is over and we find that our mind and body are still on overload. However, now we are also experiencing a myriad of emotions from relief to sadness, lack of energy to excitement, and sometimes we may feel them all at once depending on the situation.
OK, if you can identify with any of the above please read on, relief is at hand. First of all you are not alone, you are perfectly normal, and yes it was all worth it. No more of the of the DA family allowed. Shouda, Coulda, Woulda. It is time to refocus that energy to the RE family. Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate and Realize that all is exactly where it should be at this time.
I would like to invite you to become more mindful of where you are spending your energy now. Give yourself permission to say no and let go of the guilt. Take a deep breath filling up your lungs and abdomen with air and let those brain cells of yours have time to absorb the oxygen. Breathing is one of the very best stress relievers, however, you need to take deep cleansing breaths to allow your whole mind and body to benefit. Slow down, sit down and calm down.
As the New Year approaches many of you are thinking about resolutions (more about that another day). Would it be alright with you if just for today, or even just for a few minutes you let that magnificent mind of yours take a well deserved break and just focus on now the PDM? I know that I just did and I feel grounded and present. You are perfect in your imperfection, now Step into your Power.
